Gratitude: the Feeling of Being Thankful

Volume 1, Issue 1

Welp. The new year has started; like it or not. Time is moving fast and slipping away. In a previous post I discussed my intention to focus on a theme word for 2015 instead of making new years resolutions. I chose to focus on the word “GROWTH” this year, using this word as the foundation for many things. In keeping with this theme, I decided to break down the word – letter by letter – and focus for 60 days at a time. When I think of growing and developing, I am reminded that all things should start from a place of GRATITUDE.

“G” is for Gratitude

A few years ago I was fortunate enough to attend a local blogger conference at the University of Arkansas. Not only was it educational, but it was also inspirational. I met the keynote speaker, Jackie Wolven, and listened to her discuss her life and the importance of gratitude.

She encouraged us to find gratitude partners and email three things we were grateful for every day. I had a wonderful partner. We started off strong, but eventually lost touch. However, I still think of her to this day. So…for the next 60 days I will channel by inner Jackie Wolven and post images of three things I am grateful for that day. Below you will find the first six days of the year.

Stopping to take the time to think about what you are thankful for in your life is beneficial. You are forced to realize what you have and why you have it. This exercise takes only a few minutes, but will put a smile on your face for hours. I challenge you to take the time each day to think of three things you are grateful for in your life.
