Yes, the trailer for Black Panther is LIT 🔥 as evidence by the reactions on Twitter earlier this week. The first Marvel Studios film with a black lead opens February 16, 2018. Comic fans and melanin folks everywhere are more than excited. The cast is full of heavyweight actors of color – Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett, Sterling K. Brown, and more. Are you planning to see Black Panther when it hits the box office next year?

2…Tom Joyner announces the end of his morning radio show

Tom Joyner announced his retirement this week, a full two years in advance. The “Fly Jock” as he is often referred, will end his morning radio show in 2019. Joyner started his ground-breaking show in 1994. Since that time he has interviewed countless celebrities and musicians, supported a plethora of causes and organizations and entertained listeners with his on-air soap opera, “It’s Your World.” He plans to celebrate for the next two years with more live events, parties and signature events. 3…Fashion Designer Mychael Knight dies at 39

The world lost a young fashion designer this week. Mychael Knight, of Project Runway fame, died at the age of 39. He was most known for his fourth place finish in Season 3 [of Project Runway]. Celebrities and friends shared their tributes and loving memories of Knight on social media. His creativity and sweet spirit will be missed. Rest in peace. 😢

5…Singer Justine Skye takes a knee while performing the national anthem at NBA game

Justine Skye was invited to sing the national anthem at the Brooklyn Nets home season opener on Friday night. When she finished singing, the R&B singer briefly took a knee in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Her silent protest was met with mixed reactions, the Associated Press reported. Unlike the NFL, the NBA requires players to stand during the anthem. It’s a league rule.

    Great Read! I didnt hear Tom Joyner make the announcement but I was listening to the reactions of his coworkers…they were hilarious! I will hate to see him go, but its probably time!
